WILD Attempt December 29, 2007

Well, I took another shot at a WILD today but it was a complete failure. My body got used to waking up at 7:00 so It woke up at 6:52, which totally threw me off. I got so confused... I tried lying down, but I couldn't really get comfortable, so I looked at the time and 30 minutes had gone by, so I just decided to wake up.

I went, ate breakfast, and went back downstairs because I was still tired. I fell asleep and went on to have a dream about these winged creatures that came out at night and would search for food. Whether it was actual food or humans. It was pretty scary because there was nothing you could do. All my cousins from Canada were over though, it was pretty odd how I didn't do a reality check... I missed a great opportunity of being Lucid, I would have loved to have a Lucid nightmare... sweet...

Anyways, I need to sleep earlier... I regret going back to sleep, I should have stayed up so I would have been more tired around 9:00 or something.

I'll try again tomorrow, but today was a total failure.

"In Your Dreams!"

Today I attempted a WILD, I was really hyped up about it and I was kind of nervous... I'll explain why ;D.

Well, if you don't know, I've been trying to train myself to become a Lucid Dreamer for about a year now and I really want to keep on trying. Lucid dreaming, in a nutshell, is going to bed, dreaming, and recognizing you're dreaming. In doing this your dream becomes as real as reality, that's why there are things called reality checks. There are a lot of famous ones, the hand reality check is basically looking at your hand and counting your fingers to see if you have 5 fingers... Sounds dumb, but it works really well. My personal favorite is the blocking of the nose... Basically, you'd block the air passage to your nose (I don't really know how to explain it, but it's plugging your nose without using your fingers and breathing through your mouth.) if you were dreaming though, blocking this passage and trying to breath would confirm to you whether you're sleeping or not because your body goes under sleep paralysis before you hit your R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) stage (your dreaming stage =P).

What sleep paralysis does is blocks all your motor functions, if it didn't, whatever you did in your dream would happen in the waking world... Don't want that though ;D. I'm going to get a bit more in-depth with this a little later, but for now, just know that you go through this stage.

Ok, before I continue I want to explain what happens when you enter your bed... To my knowledge, I don' know if it's 100% correct but here are the stages...

  1. You enter your bed.

  2. After a while, you become unconscious.

  3. Your body enters sleep paralysis.

  4. After 4-6 hours, you enter REM, which is when your dreams are most vivid and remembered.

  5. If you wake up during your dream, you will remember that dream much more than if it were to end and then you wake up. This is because your memory of the dreams gets fuzzy after every REM cycle. That's why you remember you nightmares since they usually scare you awake, during the dream.

Now, last night I attempted a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) following Clarity's WILD Technique. What you are trying to do when you attempt the WILD is lay in your bed and trick your body into going into REM. So you lay down, stay conscious and aware while your body goes into sleep paralysis and you enter your dream consciously. It's one of the coolest things to do.

The one thing I was really freaked out about was the Sleep Paralysis... Because during this stage, your mind is jumping from the waking to sleeping and during this time you start to hear sounds, feel vibrations (that can be quite violent), have a feeling that someone is in your room, etc. It varies, but it usually scares a lot of people. I remember my friend Austin told me about him taking a nap one day and he heard some music and then he just woke up... (or something along those lines xD). Though, none of this stuff actually happens to you, it's all just a mental step from waking to sleeping.

Clarity actually recorded an experience with her sleep paralysis that scared the bageebers out of me! Read about it here, worth reading. I was freaked out about it before going to bed, and I wasn't into that whole "mantra" thing she did, but I made sure I was taking Jesus with me, so that made me feel safe =)!

I failed my attempt. After lying down for an hour (I think it was 58 minutes...) I got up, repositioned myself, and fell asleep =P.

The main reason I failed was probably because I let my mind wander and imagine and when I did that, I kept increasing my heart-beat which didn't allow my body relax, keeping me from entering SP/REM. I never had that problem until today =(.

I'll take a shoot at it for tomorrow, if I do, I'll report back and tell everyone all about it =D!

The Adventure/Birthday at Chuck E. Cheese

Wow, today was pretty crazy.

Well, I was really happy because I actually had a Lucid dream this night, it was pretty insane... I suddenly realized I was dreaming (I think the fact that my friend was inside a small bag gave it away =P) and all of a sudden there was this girl and my emotions took over and...

I kissed her...

An odd thing though, in my dreams, I can stay lucid for quite a while, but once it involves something like kissing, it'll end straight-away. Anyways, I was still happy to become Lucid ^_^!

After waking up, I took a shower and brushed my teeth. I went upstairs to see my Dad brought bagels! (I love bagels!)

So we ate as a family and I read something out of my Daily Bread and Alex complained that we didn't need to do this because we were going to Church soon, but I tried to explain to him that we should be spending personal and group time with God, he said that when I started sharing the message, it became a group =P.

Well, after that we went to Church and Wesley talked about how often we should re-read stories in the Bible, just like we look at ourselves in the mirror (it was really short, like a 2 minute lesson). Then Waleed came up and told us about...

Um...

I can't remember so I'll just tell you he talked to use for a while.

Anyways, after Church I talked to my friends and then went and asked my Mom to take me home so after a few minutes we flew to the van and went home. When we arrived, it was pretty mellowed...

Christa was watching TV, I was on my PC h4xin and Alex was sleeping. Later, we switched off a little bit, Alex played guitar hero and my sister... She just walked around upstairs... I stayed in my place ;D. Oh, but I did play my Guitar... I practiced Heart in a Cage by The Strokes... Great band ^_^.

Well, it was told to me at 4:00 that my cousin's birthday was at 4:00 at Chuck E. Cheese's! I didn't actually plan on going until Alex told me that Angie would be there... Then we hopped to it and hit the road!

Until we reached Chuck E. Cheese, entered, and found out it was the wrong one =(

We went, asked my Dad which Chuck E. Cheeses it was and flew over there. After arriving, we found everyone, said hi, and hit the games... I'm actually going to post another blog shortly about something I found hilarious that happened...

We went, ate, and then went to go play more games. The thing is my cousin Angela needed help watching her brothers (they're mentally impaired.) so I watched and it was really tough to watch Tony, except when we went to the Train-game... He really liked it =D.

But watching Tony was hard work and I started thinking about how Angie must have to watch her brothers every single day and it got to me how hard life must be for her right now... Literally, she has to help them every step of the way. She has to take them to the bathroom, cook for both of them, put them both to sleep, it's just really hard.

I would like to ask anyone reading this to please pray for her and her family, they need support and believe me, a human-hand is helpful, but God's hand is the best tool ever. I ask that you ask Jesus to help Angie, give her the patience and the strength to keep watching her brothers. Gabi, to comfort him in this time of hardship. Sonia, the wife of Gabi who has been struck with cancer, she needs all the prayer she can get so I ask that you guys send in a fleet of prayers for her, she needs them.

Well, after taking care of the brothers, we took a break and sat down, talked, Angie gave me a few coins and I ended up getting 21 tickets and buying 2 tootsie rolls. Then, I used my remaining 3 coins to play Metal Slug 6 (amazing game), just wish someone played with me =(

I went back and saw Noah and Jeff and said hi and played with Noah, a.k.a. Big No No. ;D

We left the sight soon after and headed for our cars. The wind did a number to the things I was holding... I lost my princess pack and 2 crayons ='(.

Afterwards, Jeff took us home and he decided to stay...

And that's where my day is right now =D, he's over in the other room playing Guitar Hero 2 with Alex while Christa plays with Noah xD!

Ah, I love writing blogs ^_^! Hope you enjoyed my first official one! Thank you and Goodnight!

My First Blog Post!

Well, this is my first blog post...

If this blog somehow becomes famous in the future or anyone stumbles upon, the reason I made it was to basically write down my thoughts, ideas, opinions, anything I feel like.

And to think it all started with my MySpace bulletins.

You see, I was a very active member in 2 forums, and if you've ever been to a forum you know that there is always some new, interesting topic going on. That was my goal with MySpace.

Bulletins became my best friends and I released them often, talking about a huge variety of items and a bunch of interesting items I thought people would like to know about.

That's what this blogs plan is, to show people interesting items and let them know what my opinion is!

Anyways, although this post had no significance for the time being, it will have some worth in the future =P.
